Lorquians

Lorquianos is a wonderful recital where, for the first time, the sixteen songs that Federico García Lorca collected across the Spanish geography during his travels with the theater group La Barraca can be heard. Until today, only thirteen songs were known; this program includes the recovered "Canción de Otoño en Castilla" discovered in Burgos. The atmosphere created by these songs becomes magical with the addition of the most famous poems from the Romancero Gitano recited by Loles León; her love for Federico and his work make this show unique and unrepeatable.

Film, television, theater, and radio actress, and "Almodóvar girl." During the height of the Madrid movida, she met Pedro Almodóvar, who offered her roles in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1987) and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! (1989).

She later worked with Vicente Aranda in supporting roles in The Lover in Disguise (1993) and Libertarias (1996). In 1997, she starred in the film Man’s Love, and in 1998, she filmed The Girl of Your Dreams.

Nominated for the Goya Award for Best Supporting Actress on three occasions. In 2003, she began working in the hit series Here Comes Everybody, and in 2004, she starred in Julián Quintanilla’s first short film, Implication, which earned her the Girona acting award.

In 2011, she returned to the theater with Bibiana Fernández in the play The Great Depression, written and directed by Dunia Ayaso and Félix Sabroso. That same year, she announced her participation in Red Eagle, a TVE series set in the 17th century that revives the adventure genre.

In 2005, 2007, and 2011, she hosted the Drag Queen Gala at the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In 2015, she worked in Telecinco’s La que se avecina, playing Menchu as the main character.

Among her most recent work is the film The Queen of Spain. She starred in the short film The Whole World, filmed in Badajoz, Extremadura, which has won multiple festival awards for her performance.

In mid-June 2016, the artist was confirmed as a new contestant on the first season of Spanish Television’s culinary talent show, Celebrity MasterChef.

This Zamorano baritone began his musical studies at the age of five, studying with some of the greatest teachers such as Juana Peñalver, Consuelo Barrio, María Teresa Manzano, Miguel Zanetti, and currently with the eminent Spanish tenor Pedro Lavirgen and Teresa Berganza.
